Applying London Underground tube map style to Canadian metro maps
We recent Underground Underground map experiments, it seemed a good time to update and share some transit subway & metro maps I made in 2009 after a visit to London (and having bought a copy of the Johnston Underground typeface from the London Transport Museum). The following maps follow the map rules as defined by TfL for the Tube map, including the use of Johnston.
The updated maps follow the ticks for stations and bars for terminus stations, as well as the line curves, however the local orientation riders are already familiar with in Montreal and Toronto was still employed. Montreal's Metro map sits turned at a 45-degree angle, while the TTC subway map sits horizontal.
